The Kindergarten Care Program is a complement to the school day, giving children a safe place to relax, be with friends, play games, and most importantly have fun.

Kindergarten Care is a wrap around program of care and enrichment for children who attend half-day kindergarten in Mt. Lebanon.

At Kindergarten Care the children will have a choice of activities, some planned around a theme, and some center activities that are always available. The activities, games and centers are arranged with the children's developmental level and expressed interests in mind. They include art, music, cooking, science, stories, dramatic play, board and card games, crafts, manipulative and building tools, and sports. There is time each day for outside play when the weather permits, or active indoor play. Field trips and special guests at the center are an integral part of the program. Nutritional snacks are provided at mid-morning and mid-afternoon.

The Kindergarten Care program is not a repetition or a continuation of the school's kindergarten program.  It complements the kindergarten experience by providing opportunities for playtime and exploration of your child's own individual interests, as well as a chance to develop and practice age appropriate social skills. The children are encouraged to make choices and to help plan the activities.

  • The Kindergarten Care Program has a morning and afternoon session
  • Kindergarten Care children are transported by bus to or from their school to our center
  • Parents will be provided an Orientation Packet

Kindergarten Care Center is open:
AM Session: 8:30 AM to 12:45 PM
PM Session: 11:15 AM to 3:30 PM
Monday through Friday.

Before School Care (7:00am - 8:30am) and After School Care (3:30pm - 6:30pm) is available, but must be enrolled for separately by completing the School Year Care Registration Form.  Rates for before and after care can be found on the School Year Tab.

NOTE: Children not attending our Kindergarten Care Program who need care ONLY before AM Kindergarten (7:00 - 8:45 AM) or ONLY after PM Kindergarten (3:30 - 6:30 PM) must sign up for School Year Care, not Kindergarten Care.

Additional Rate and Schedule Calendar Information

We do not bill for ACT 80 days and Early Dismissal.

*A Typical School Day is a day when children are scheduled for a regular session of school.

*Typical Days Billing: The Typical Days listed above in the Kindergarten Care Schedule Calendar, are totaled (based on your RSPA agreement) then divided into easy monthly installments.

The following items are billed separately.

  1. **Long Days are in service-clerical days and parent teacher conference days with 11.5 hours of care available.
  2. **Long Days are always billed separately. Since families sign up for care as needed and Long Days are an additional cost, we do not pre-bill for these days. You are only billed for the days for which you sign up. No Tuition Credits are Given for absences on Long Days.
  3. Late Pick Up Fee - $10.00 for every 15-minute increment beyond closing time (6:30 p.m.).
  4. Late Payment Fee - Payments are due the first day of every month. A late fee of 5% of the account balance will be assessed to accounts, if payment arrives after the 5th day of the month.
  5. Failure To Call Off Fee: If your child is scheduled for afternoon care and is absent without calling to inform the center, then you will be charged a $25.00 Failure To Call Off Fee.
