Liz Comiski: This is Miss Liz’s 2nd year working with MLEDP. She brings her education and experience to our Kindergarten Care Program. Liz studied a dual major in elementary education and developmental psychology at The College of New Jersey. She holds a B.A. in sociology from California University of PA. Liz has over 14 years of experience working with children. She has 2 amazing children. A son who is 9, and a daughter who just turned 13. Liz loves rescuing and rehabbing furniture and making glass mosaics. Liz is so excited to meet all the kids and have a fun year!
Center Staff
Amelia Hart (Morning Kindergarten Care Teacher) Miss Amelia has worked with children for the last 15 years. She holds a degree in art education from Edinboro University. Before starting at MLEDP in 2023, she taught Kindergarten for 4 years. Amelia loves animals, cooking, art, oldies music, and spending time with her husband and baby son. Amelia is excited for a new school year and excited to meet everyone!
Jennifer Laux (Morning Kindergarten Care Teacher) Miss Jennifer has worked with MLEDP going on 15 years now! She received a BA degree in Elementary Education from Point Park University. She has two wonderful children, a devoted husband, and is a lover of animals. Jennifer has a heart of gold and lots of patience. She is caring and kind to all the children who come to our center. She enjoys spending time with horses and camping with family in Erie!
Katy Chmura (Afternoon Kindergarten Care Teacher) Ms. Katy is new to MLEDP this year and is thrilled to be a part of the Hoover team! Her background is in theatre performance, and she holds a B.A. in theatre Education from George Mason University. Katy is originally from the Washington D.C. area and moved to Pittsburgh in 2020. She loves singing, dancing, and everything involving performing! Katy also enjoys making jewelry, reading, and hanging out with her cat, Charlie. She has been an educator for most of her career and loves sharing her love of education and creativity with her students!
Sarah Beck (8-4pm Kindergarten aide) Ms. Sarah joined our MLEDP team at the beginning of 2024 and has been a wonderful addition. She has a strong passion for working with children and plans to pursue a future in Early Childhood Education! When not watching kiddos, Sarah enjoys spending her time reading good books, spending time with her sister, and cuddling with her dog Blue! She is so excited for a new year and cannot wait to meet and connect with the new kids.
